unless the LORD builds the house...

Well, back in March 2007, we began pursuing the idea of building a house. Not just any old house, mind you, but a house that would be great for hosting gatherings, be near to our "family" here in Augusta, allow for our family to grow (numerically, that is), and be in a rural setting. So we planned and plotted, haggled with an architect, and fine tuned our wants and needs, and came up with a wonderful set of plans. Then, repeating the same process, we contracted with a builder. And now - after a year+ worth of planning and struggling and, finally, waiting patiently for the LORD's timing, we are building our house!

Where: Edgefield County, South Carolina (about 15 minutes NNW of Augusta, Georgia); almost 1 acre of land

What: A 1-1/2 story, farmhouse

With: 4 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, big kitchen/dining room/living room that are all really one great room, a loft, and front and rear porches.

We "broke ground" on June 7th. They builders are currently working on the floor frame.
