Elly's BIG Day

Once upon time, there was a little girl named Elly. She was a sweet little girl, with the shiniest blonde hair, and the clearest blue eyes in the land. She enjoyed her times of play each day, and often created her own adventures if things became too calm.

This day, however, needed no help in adventure. For this was her birthday and excitement charged the air. Not only was this her birthday, but it was her SECOND birthday- advancing her into "big girl" status.

Elly did not set her standards high as birthdays go. Her request was for a baby doll and birthday brownies with "cream."

Because all in the land loved little Elly, all were glad to make her birthday celebration all that she desired.

The baker mixed up brownies with glee, and her sisters gladly "helped" play with the new dolly, crayons, and stuffed elephant she had been given.

Countrymen and women came from near and far to join in the celebration, dining on the chef's finest stew and indulging in the bounty of brownies and "cream."

Alas, when the party was over and glad tidings of birthday happiness were sung, little Elly-freshly set upon the journey of her third year- was tucked into bed with her little arms hugging her new dolly and elephant, as well as her faithful friends Bear and Puppy.

For this birthday night, all was well and quiet. Tomorrow would bring a new day for the little girl with the shiniest blonde hair and the clearest blue eyes in the land.
