Petite "4"

Birthdays are interesting in that, as you get older, they become less important. However, as a parent, when you celebrate your child's birthday, this odd sense of "Wow, where has the time gone?" sweeps over you. This is exactly what has happened recently at our house. Rachel turned 4. Her birthday requests: pizza with extra crust to dip in olive oil, chocolate cupcakes with frosting and "sparkles," and toys. She is not a hard one to please when it comes to celebrations. As long as there is a yummy treat to be had it's all good. I did a little "interview" with Rachel as she finished the cake crumbs from her plate. I wanted to know what being four meant to her, if being another year older opened any new doors for her. If you listen closely, you'll be surprised by her answers. One thing is certainly true for our little Rachel - she did not become any less silly by turning four. Actually, I think the silliness has just been enhanced.
