2011 - Another Beginning

Happy New Year to all of you!
I must admit that the entrance of 2011 was a lackluster one for the Peters' home. Somehow celebrating the end of one year and start of another with a family cold robs the holiday of excitement. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes.
So, while 4 of our 5 kiddos sniffled, coughed, and dripped their way into the new year, we did manage some moments of worship, reflection, and looking ahead.

Since the colds have hung on longer than desired, the children and I (Jolene) had to stay home from church. So we started learning a new hymn ("All Things Bright and Beautiful") and read from Mark 11 as our Sunday worship. After we were through, Anna said we needed a benediction, just like we normally receive at church. So, I read one of my favorite passages of encouragement and joy as our benediction. As the day has wore on, I have been thinking how appropriate our morning benediction was as we enter this new year, 2011. Therefore, by means of wishing you all a happy, growth filled, health ridden new year, hear (or rather read) the words of Jude, verses 24 and 25:

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy - to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
