The dormers are framed, the rafters are on, and our builder says shingling will begin within a week!

We've had fun seeing the house go up. It's neat to walk from room to room and imagine the possibilities for decorating. Anna and Rachel have explored and played in the dirt - happiness at its finest!

Matthew and I had the joy of picking out showers and tubs last weekend and were truly blessed in the effort. While at Lowe's (which may, in due course, swallow us whole!), we happened to find a really neat kitchen sink. It was a special order sink that had been returned. It's cast iron, almond colored, and an undermount. It was marked down to $70 (originally $465). We looked at it and prayed about it and decided to wait, since we would need something other than

a Formica countertop to work with an undermount. Anyway, that was on Saturday. We had to return to Lowe's to decide on shingle color on Monday, and decided (after praying and crunching numbers all weekend) that if the sink was still there, we'd buy it. I had doubts, since it was such a great price and a great sink, but with the Lord, all things are possible! And possible became reality as we found that the sink was still there! So, we have a huge, trully beautiful sink that only cost us $65 (after a coupon was tacked on). We are heading to Elberton, GA this Saturday to look at granite for the kitchen counters. The Lord is so good and is showing us daily how He is working to build this house.
A Note about the pictures here: The first is a shot of the front. The second photo is of the southwesterly side of the house (you can see the bumpout for the fireplace and the windows ot the dining room). The final photo is taken from the balcony/loft, looking out a dormer toward the front of our property.
