Well! November has passed us by. So by way of welcoming in December - Merriest Christmas wishes to all of you who read this. May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ fill your hearts with peace and the reassurance of his powerful sovereignty for all the ages.

We celebrated several events in November. Besides the obvious Thanksgiving holiday, our family celebrated our little Elly's 1st birthday! As all little kids, she loved the cake and her presents. Anna and Rachel also loved the caked AND Elly's presents.

Matthew and I had a good time just watching them play, as well as intervening when Elly's present mysteriously disappeared! (Thanks to her big sisters.)

As I said before, November is gone. Therefore, our house is nearly finished and ready for us to move in. This very week the hardwood floors are being sanded, sealed, and finished. With only a few odds and ends to take care of, we look at moving in on Dec. 13th! And then, only 11 days later, most of Matthew's family will descend upon us for Christmas. We will have 15 overnight guests for about 4 days. It makes me tired to think about right now, but that's because about a hundred other things beg for my attention between now and then. We are super excited to have family in the new house, and to see if all our planning with regard to making a welcoming and warm home for anyone who sets foot within its walls will proof itself.

In the house photos shown here, you can see the fireplace and the beams that break up the loftiness of the great room. The last photo is a shot of our granite in the kitchen. This is my island with the cooktop. Photos on the web simply don't do it justice, but hey, it's not bad.
All in all we are hanging in there. I am tired and ready to be in our new home. With the holidays here, it is hard to be so unsettled. The walls in the house are naked, boxes are piling up, and I find myself turning in circles wonder "Where do I start today?" Praise the Lord it is He who has set us upon this path, and it is He who will carry us to its fulfillment. He is so good!
Love to you all! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
