I can say with some certainty that life for us has never a dull moment. Besides the house being built, our little girls are growing up. Anna, now 5, is diligently preparing to sing a solo for the church Christmas eve service. Rachel, turning 3 in February, has become a puzzle whiz. She has effectively conquered all our wooden puzzles and has started tackling more complicated puzzles with smaller pieces. She's also convinced that you CAN eat lunch with muddy hands (besides, what's the point since she's just going to go dig after lunch is over?).
And Elly? Elly is trying to walk and keep up with her big sisters. She's quite the chatter box, too. Suppertime is an event when all three girls get to talking. Basically, Matthew and I don't say anything except "Okay, you need to eat," and "Let's try taking turns talking," and "Please speak AFTER you've chewed all your food," and "Elly, don't do that with food in your mouth!"

Recently at our church we had a "Fall Festival." Anna dressed as a mouse, Rachel was a trunkless elephant, and Elly was a leapord. Matthew put on his safari hat and became the "Zookeeper." How appropriate!
