Newton's First Law of Motion

As Newton's First Law of Motion states: an object in motion will stay in motion (or at rest) until some other force acts upon it. Well, I am sure that this applies to family life as well. It's been better than a month since my last update, and much has happened in that time.
We journeyed to Iowa at the end of August and stayed into the second week of September. On our way home we visited Matthew's aunts in St. Louis and one of his sisters in Chattanooga. We arrived home on September 13th and hit the ground running. But for all the busyness of life, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Iowa.
The girls had lots of fun playing with cousins, exploring Grandpa and Grandma's homestead, watching Grandpa's boat get a floor makeover, taking that boat out for a cruise, watching a football game, driving/riding the tractor, picking Grandma's beans, eating yummy food, and staying in the "little house."
Ezekiel didn't enjoy the ride so much. In fact, he would barely be strapped into his car seat before he'd crack up with the most discontented cry/shriek/squeal/scream - whatever you want to call it. As long as he was out of the car seat, he was happy. He's slowly getting better, but 18+ hours with a screaming boy is very low on my list of favorite things to do.
Now that we are home, I'm finding that life has not really slowed down. School keeps us busy, along with planning the fall landscaping, planting perenniels, picking from our garden, keeping the house clean, running Anna to piano lessons, etc. I find that in the busy times, I tend to lose sight of what God is doing in my life and my family's life. However, the Lord so graciously (albeit not so gently) reminds me of my daily need of His guidance and grace. When things look bleak and I'm feeling weary, He has so often picked me up and taken me forward. I pray for you all, that in Christ you are being taken forward.
As an aside, I have now joined the ranks of the "30 somethings." While Anna turned a youthful "6," I welcomed 30 (hopefully with much grace and maturity). So, do I feel different? No, but I do have a bigger number to flaunt and being called "Mrs. Peters" doesn't sound to old anymore.
