school's out, now what?

With our first "year" of homeschool in the books, our focus turns to summer and the many different things for us to do. Gardening and yardwork top the list with repainting our deck rails, putting down some more grass plugs, moving a few perennials, swimming lessons, and VBS coming up - just to name a few!
So, we're taking the week off, so to speak. I have a few little school items to keep up with (like teaching Rachel to read), but other than that the kids are now left with extra free time. So, what does one do with such extra time? Anna found a fun solution.
While perusing a kids magazine, she found a section of craft ideas, one of which required newspaper and masking tape. When she showed it to me I thought, "Only two materials? Sounds good to me!" So, we rolled and folded and taped. What did we make?

Newspaper golf clubs and balls! Of course! Ya gotta love summer vacation...
