Well, it's been a little while since my last post. Much has happened in the weeks that have lapsed- too much really. So, I'll do a brief rundown of the highlights.
In mid-May Anna, Rachel, and I attended a homeschool practicum for three days. While I sat in on some lectures, the girls attended "camp." Anna went to a geography and drawing camp where she learned to draw a map of Europe as well as an elephant, a moose, and an hippo. She made new friends and enjoyed her time. Rachel went to play camp and, basically, played most of the day. She also did a craft each day, learned some songs, and played dress up to her heart's delight. Elly and Zeke were troopers as they spent one morning with our neighbors, another morning with some trustworthy ladies just down the road, and the last morning with a dear church "grandma." Matthew was able to get his work jammed into the mornings, so the little ones had Daddy for the afternoons.
I also made a trip to a podiatrist to have my foot examined. I've been experiencing some pain walking, so much so that going barefoot is now a thing of the past. Anyway, the podiatrist believes there is a neuroma (basically an inflamed nerve) that is causing the pain. I had a steroid injection to cushion that area. I was told it would work temporarily, and sadly, he was right. Please pray for wisdom, especially as my pregnancy will influence many decisions in this matter.
Matthew and I celebrated our 9th anniversary May 19th. We managed (only a week later) to go out to dinner and enjoy some time together. It's nice to be able to have a conversation without kid interjections.
We are once again laying sod and putting in grass plugs. Hopefully this will be the last of that job and we will be able to sit back next May and enjoy our lush, vibrant green lawn.
And finally, I had my first appointment with the OB last week. We were a little off our projected due date. After an ultrasound, we learned the more accurate due date is December 14th. The baby looks healthy and was pretty active with a strong heartbeat. I'm still very tired, but the "morning sickness" is subsiding. Coffee still sounds terrible, sweets are less than desireable, and "Yankee sweet tea" (about 1/8 the sweetness of southern sweet tea) is my best friend.
Now June is before us. Zeke turns 1 next week, VBS starts soon, and swimming lessons are highly anticipated. Not only that, but we have visitors coming at the end of the month and more visitors in July.
Sorry there are no photos this time around. I have a video and some photos to post, but that will have to wait until later.
May the Lord's blessings abound as you realize more and more Jesus' love. For, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." -Acts 4:12
