It's been quite a while since I last sat down to make an update on our family. Much has happened over the summer and this early autumn. As best I can, I'll give a run-down of our family activities.
August: We took a BIG trip to Iowa and Minnesota. It was a chance for us to join some of my (Jolene's) family on a week's vacation. We journeyed to MN with kids, gear, and boats in tow. The weather was glorious, the lake (Black Duck) was green and murky, and the fishing was not so great. BUT! The company of family was a treat.
End of August: After our very long journey, we came home with our feet in motion. Our homeschool co-op started up, we started our school full-throttle, and we tried to stay cool!
September: Two birthdays were celebrated! Anna turned 7 and I celebrated my 31st year. We had friends and family here, ate the offerings of Matthew's grill, and devoured a chocolate butterfly cake and ice cream. Anna received roller blades, which she wore every day, all day for about a week. She is doing well at staying on her feet.
Early October: My pregnancy had been going well for much of the summer. The heat wasn't fun, but overall I felt well. October 1st was a point of turning, however. I went in for a checkup and walked out with orders for bedrest. Things were beginning to progress too quickly, as I was not yet at 30 weeks. So we have one week of bedrest in the books and are looking ahead to a second. Baby Jude is well and I am as well as I can be.
