For a few weeks it seemed as if nothing was happening with the house on the surface. Ah, but if you stepped inside, you'd see a much different story. For much of August we were making decisions about location. Location of a/c and heating vents; location of outlets; location of lights and switches...location location location! Once those decisions were made, wiring and pipes were run, and the a/c unit and its duct work went in. It almost looks as if multi-colored weeds have taken over the framework.

Painting has also begun on the trim and rafters. This is in preparation for the roof to go on in the next couple of weeks. Along with the roof we should see the fireplace go in, the tub for the master bath be put in, and the flooring be laid on the porches.

According to our builder, everything is on schedule, if not a little ahead. We hope to be moving in by the end of November (definitely before Christmas). We are all excited to see work progress. My "office" room at our current house is starting to fill up with various boxes containing lights, finish hardware for tubs, showers, and sinks, my cast iron kitchen sink, and a few other odds and ends. Soon I will be adding a chandelier, pendant lights, and my cooktop to the collection. And just imagine, I nearly bought a washer and dryer today!!!

The girls continue to dream big of what they will do in the new house. Rachel liked the bathtub and wanted to model it for you. Just imagine bubbles and water on the floor- then this would be an accurated picture!
