rays of light - a breakthrough

Children have so many joys and so much laughter. Little things make them bubble over with gladness, anticipation, wonder.
"You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light." ~2 Samuel 22:29

The car ride to church was one of wearisome longevity..."Are we almost there?" came the question. Twenty minutes and buckled safe were almost unbearable for a black kitty, a ballerina mouse, a white bunny, a fuzzy leopard, and a rather small tiger. The Fall Festival awaited them - this chariot needed to fly!
"...let us walk in the light of the LORD." ~Isaiah 2:5

The bridge directing us across the river came into view and we began it's short course over the water. The Lord, with great grace and (I'm certain) much joy, sent rays of sunlight.

"Look!!! Sunbeams!!!" "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." ~John 8:12

The black kitty strained at her seatbelt to have a better view. All the other critters (except for the wee tiger) craned their heads to see this wonder. Sunbeams - immediate, bursting joy - a breakthrough.
"Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD." ~Psalm 4:6

How awesome it is to see the rays of cool light, streaking through the darkened clouds! My thoughts went to this wonder. An amazing God I love, who makes sunbeams to rend the stormy cover and give my children joy - a joy even greater than the Fall Festival and playing dressup at church.

We chased the rays of light, the sunbeams, to the church - and there we rejoiced in fellowship. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another..." ~1 John 1:7
